Cooking Instructions!
Wash the plums thoroughly and remove the pits. Cut the plums into small pieces.
In a large pot, combine the plums, sugar, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon. Stir well to evenly coat the plums with sugar.
Let the plum mixture sit for 2 hours, allowing the sugar to dissolve and the flavors to blend.
After 2 hours, bring the plum mixture to a boil over medium heat. Stir in the powdered fruit pectin and continue boiling for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Remove the pot from heat and skim off any foam that has formed on the surface of the jam.
Transfer the hot plum jam into clean, sterilized jars. Leave about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) of space at the top of each jar.
Seal the jars tightly with lids and process them in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes. This will help prolong the shelf life of the jam.
Allow the jars to cool completely before storing them in a cool, dark place. The plum jam will thicken as it cools.
Enjoy your homemade plum jam on toast, pancakes, or as a tasty addition to your favorite recipes.
