Step 1

In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a ball of dough forms.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Shape the dough into a ball.

Step 4

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 6

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic, chopped parsley, and dried oregano. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 7

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and tie it into a knot. Place the knots onto the prepared baking sheet.

Step 8

Brush the garlic butter mixture over the knots, making sure to cover them completely.

Step 9

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the garlic knots are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and brush with any remaining garlic butter. Serve warm and enjoy!
