Did you know that you can smoke a chicken at home, right in your kitchen, without much hassle and with almost no smoke? This recipe, originating from Asian cuisine, will surely be new to many. We'll start with juicier cuts of chicken - drumsticks. We marinate the chicken in a mixture of soy sauce, honey and white wine before steam cooking it and then smoking it in a regular skillet. Believe us, a few steps in the preparation will lead to a very appetizing result.

Ingredients

  • Chicken drumsticks  450-500 g (2 pcs.)
  • Soy sauce  2 tbsp
  • Honey  1.5 tbsp
  • Dry white wine  2 tbsp
  • Flour  1 tbsp
  • Black tea (plain)  1 tbsp
  • Sugar  1 tbsp
  • Salt  to taste
  • Ground black pepper  to taste

Prepare the ingredients according to the list.
Take black tea without any aromatic additives.
During the cooking process, you will need a steaming rack (or a steamer), a smoking rack (of skillet size), a thick-walled skillet with a lid, and some foil.

Chicken thighs should be washed and patted dry. Remove bones and leave the skin on.

In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, wine, and honey. Stir until the honey is dissolved.

Place the chicken in the marinade, cover with food wrap, and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Next, prepare the steaming container. I have a special mesh that simply sits on top of a pot with boiling water. Chicken can also be cooked in a steamer. Steam the chicken thighs for 25 minutes.

Prepare a skillet. It is important that the skillet has a lid that tightly covers it - this will make the cooking process more appropriate and minimize the light smoke from the homemade smoking.
Now the most interesting part.
Line the skillet with foil and make sides. Add wheat flour, tea, sugar to the foil, and mix.

Place the smoking rack of skillet size in the skillet. Arrange the chicken thighs on the rack.

Place the skillet on a low heat. Cover the skillet tightly with a lid. Cook the chicken for 25-30 minutes. The smoke is not very strong and it has a very pleasant smell that immediately arouses the appetite.
