You will need skewers to prepare this dish. If you're using wooden skewers for oven-baked shish kebabs, soak them in cold water while the kebab marinates.
Cut the chicken breast into 4 pieces per portion.
Peel and slice the onion into rings.
Transfer the sliced chicken into a bowl, add mayonnaise, water, and onion rings. Add salt, ground pepper, and spices to taste (I used khmeli-suneli).
Carefully mix the chicken with the mayonnaise, onion, and spices. Place the chicken in the marinade in the refrigerator for 1.5-2 hours. 10-15 minutes before the marinade time ends, preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
Skewer the marinated chicken with onion rings and place them in a baking tray lined with foil.
Bake the chicken kebabs in the oven, preheated to 190 degrees Celsius, for 40 minutes. Turn the kebabs over once during cooking.
