The original recipe for chicken baked with red onions and an orange-wine sauce. To make the sauce, we use red wine, orange, honey, as well as ginger, rosemary, and garlic. During baking in the oven, the sauce fully saturates the tender chicken meat, giving it a sweet and sour flavor with a hint of spice. As a bonus, the red onions harmoniously complement the taste of the chicken meat.

Prepare all necessary ingredients.
Remove the top yellow part of the orange zest from the orange. Remove the white membranes and seeds from the orange wedges. Cut the wedges into small pieces.
Grate the ginger with a medium grater. Peel and finely chop the garlic.
Put the orange flesh and zest, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. Add salt and black pepper.
Then add soy sauce, vegetable oil, wine, and honey. Mix everything together. The sauce is ready.
Place the chicken drumsticks in a baking dish.
Pour sauce over the drumsticks.
Peel and cut the red onion in half. Place the onion halves between the drumsticks.
Sprinkle dried rosemary over the top. Leave the chicken in the dish for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
Cover the dish with foil. Make a few small holes in the foil to allow steam to escape. Place the dish in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Remove the foil, turn the chicken pieces over.
Bake without foil for another 20-30 minutes, turning the drumsticks a couple of times and basting with the sauce, until the chicken has a golden crust and the sauce has thickened.
The chicken baked with red onions and orange-wine sauce is ready. Serve with your favorite side dish or fresh vegetables.
Enjoy your meal!
