These cheesy garlic breadsticks are the perfect accompaniment to any Italian meal. They're soft, buttery, and filled with ooey-gooey cheese. The garlic adds an extra flavor punch that will have everyone coming back for seconds. Plus, they're so easy to make!

  • Flour  250 g
  • Active dry yeast  1 pack (7g)
  • Warm water  240 ml
  • Sugar  1 tsp
  • Salt  1 tsp
  • Olive oil  2 tbsp

Garlic Butter Topping

  • Butter  115 g
  • Garlic  3 cloves (minced)
  • Parsley  2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Salt  1/4 tsp
  • Mozzarella cheese  100 g (shredded)

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, warm water, sugar, salt and olive oil. Stir until the dough comes together.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough back into the bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 8 inches long.

Melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley and salt. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant.
